Welcome to my blog!!!

I have collected baseball cards and autographs over the years. I still have boxes full of cards (as well as newer cards) that are just sitting there. So, I have decided to see how many of them I can get autographed. I use through the mail as my preferred route for this adventure. I also have an account on Zistle and The Trading Card Database for trading purposes (stevienicks77).

1597 days!!!

Obviously, the title gives it away.  When I opened up this particular TTM envelope, I couldn't believe it.  I remembered sending cards to Alex White, but I couldn't remember when.  I had guessed it was somewhere around two years old, but it has been over 4 years when I checked my spreadsheet.  And, it was to the Rockies Spring Training!  I am ecstatic to have these back; I had sent this out at a time when I was thinking about collecting 2010 Topps Pro Debut autographs.  Needless to say, that goal did not last long.

Pat Combs

Pat Combs is a former major league pitcher for the Phillies.  These were my three favorite Pat Combs' cards.  I have always loved the blue Phillies uniforms!

2016 Topps Archives

I have always loved picking up Archives in the past, however, I was not really impressed with the set this year.  It possibly could be due to attempting to complete the Archives sets the last couple of years, and I have not gotten it done yet.

First, my favorite cards of each "old dude," 80-90"s dude, and current dude:

Token catcher card:

Player collections - Even though I'm partial to Gary Carter in a Mets uniform, this picture of the Expos uniform is great!

Cubbies - I've been really lucky with my Bryant hits lately

Royals:

Inserts:

The 1985 #1 Draft Pick cards are my favorite insert card of the bunch.  They also have cards of Andy Benes and B.J. Surhoff, and I'm excited to get my hands of those cards.

2016 Topps Stadium Club

I just picked up some 2016 Stadium Club over the weekend.  Even though its been out for awhile, I haven't seen the best reviews from collectors, and I agree.  I love the photos, but the way the player's name is listed on the card is just boring.  Maybe next year Stadium Club.

2016 Topps Series 2

It's been harder for me to buy any type of cards at my usual spot (Walmart).  I'm not sure if someone is buying them out, or if they are not keeping them stocked anymore.  I have been starting to frequent Target to get cards when something new come out.  When I made my weekly weekend trip there, they had a few boxes of Series 2 left.

Royals World Series cards - I love these cards, but it seems like there are so many, that I can't keep up!

2016 Bowman

I know I'm really behind the 8 ball when it comes to reviewing cards and showing my hits.  My current frustration is not necessarily with Bowman itself, but Zistle's database will not allow me to enter my cards into my collection.  They are just in a pile on my desk until the system allows users to enter their cards.

Main set

Cubbies:

Royals:

 Token Catcher:

Prospects:

Chrome Prospects:

Royals prospects - Bubba Starling was recently promoted to the Omaha Storm Chasers.  People in Nebraska are freaking out because he is a former Nebraska Cornhusker football recruit.  I think he made the right decision.

Cubbie prospects - Well, Wilson Contreras is already with the big club.  Seems to be going well for him, so far.

2016 Prizm Collegiate Draft Picks

As I look at my last post, its been well over 2 months since my last post.  I have gotten several Zistle trade requests, but have been unable to trade at the level I once was.  Even though I graduated in May with my Masters Degree from the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Medicine, I have been unable to do anything with my hobby.  However, I have been buying some cards here and there, and I'll be posting what I got.  My first packs of 2016 Prizm Collegiate Draft Picks at least a month ago.  I can't remember exactly why I decided to pick these particular packs, but I'm glad I did.  I have always loved football cards of players in their college uniform, and this set does not disappoint.

Although I did not pull any of my beloved Iowa Hawkeyes, I did pull some B1G alumni:

I do have a place in my heart for Ole Miss and WKU...my friend's brother is the current AD at Ole Miss, and former AD at WKU.  Bobby Rainey is a WKU alumni who won me a fantasy college football championship several years ago.
