Welcome to my blog!!!

I have collected baseball cards and autographs over the years. I still have boxes full of cards (as well as newer cards) that are just sitting there. So, I have decided to see how many of them I can get autographed. I use through the mail as my preferred route for this adventure. I also have an account on Zistle and The Trading Card Database for trading purposes (stevienicks77).

Zistle trade with BucCollector

Another trade via Zistle this week.  I was able to hook up BucCollector with a lot of Pirates, while he helped me with some for my player collections!

Eric Jagielo and an RTS

This is a quick return from Eric Jagielo.  I actually have another autograph of him when I pulled it from a pack from my LCS.

My other return this week was an RTS from the Louisville Bats.  I sent a TTM to Jody Davis, but it said "no longer at this address".  I'm not sure about that; I double checked their website and the TTM address was the same as I had written down.  Oh well.

Trip to the LCS, part 2...I finished a set!!!

My LCS always hooks me up with a huge box of common cards to shuffle through when I'm trying to complete a set.  This trip was no different.  I was able to complete the 2015 Bowman set, Prospects, and Chrome Prospects.  I obviously won't post everything I bought, but here's the low down:

Trip to LCS, part 1...the packs

While at the LCS this weekend, to get the free Kris Bryant card, you had to buy $10 in Topps products.  I knew I would not have a difficult time because my local Walmart is apparently not stocking baseball cards anymore, so I haven't bought any new releases lately.

Allen & Ginter

Royals and Cubs, including new Royal Billy Burns.  I wasn't so sure about trading away Brett Eibner, but I think Dayton Moore knows what he's doing.

Topps Tribute

It always makes me nervous to spend a lot of money on one pack of cards.  This turned out pretty good.  One for the player collection, one for the catcher binder, and one for my green collection.

2016 National Baseball Card Day

My LCS posted on their Facebook this week about their promotion for National Baseball Card Day last Saturday.  This was a definite push to get me down there; not only had I not been writing TTM requests, or trading, I have not been down to the LCS for quite a while.  I was able to buy some awesome stuff, which I'll post throughout the week.  But, first, I want to post what they were giving away as part of the promotion.  I'm not sure if it was all stores or not, but if you bought $10 in Topps, you got a free Kris Bryant National Baseball Day Card.  They were also giving away promotion packs.  They gave me two packs, which I thought was generous!  It was a good trip to the LCS, and they were pretty busy, so it was nice to see everyone out supporting small business!
