Welcome to my blog!!!

I have collected baseball cards and autographs over the years. I still have boxes full of cards (as well as newer cards) that are just sitting there. So, I have decided to see how many of them I can get autographed. I use through the mail as my preferred route for this adventure. I also have an account on Zistle and The Trading Card Database for trading purposes (stevienicks77).

TOP 5 TTM OF 2011: #3

Number 3 TTM of 2011 is courtesy of Scott Service. This was sent to the Texas Rangers, where he served as Senior Director of Player Development for the Texas Rangers. He has now moved on to the Angels, where he is now the Assistant General Manager, Scouting & Player Development. I targeted Scott for several reasons: he's a former catcher, former Cub, and he played his college ball at Creighton University in Omaha. I used to live in Omaha, and followed Creighton athletics, and I still do.

TOP 5 TTM OF 2011: #4

Scott Cousins is my #4 TTM of 2011. Why? Well, I am a Marlins fan, and have been since their inception. Plus, if you've read this blog, you know I love those Heritage cards, esp. the 2011 set. I think Mr. Cousins has a neat autograph, as well. Unfortunately for Scott, he had a run-in with Buster Posey, and we all know what happened next. This TTM was received before the incident.

TOP 5 TTM OF 2011: #5

I saw this on another blog, and thought it was an awesome idea!

Number 5 of 2011 is John Alt. This was sent to his home address. This TTM was so important because he is a former Kansas City Chief and Iowa Hawkeye...two of my favs!!!

Cubs Destination Vacation

We had the opportunity to go to Boston to see the Cubs play the Red Sox in May via Cubs Destination Vacations. It was a wonderful time! We got a VIP tour of Fenway Park and a meet and greet with Sean Marshall! He was awesome! He signed autographs and answered some questions for the fans. On top of that, we got tickets to the Saturday night and Sunday night games at Fenway. Here are some photos:

Probably my lone Dec. mail!!!

FINALLY! A TTM!!! I was pretty sure the mail would slow down after the AFL, but I never imagined HOW slow it would become!!! Anyway, I big one back this week. Josh Hamilton!!! I had read that he usually waits until after the season to sign, and I can only imagine why...he probably gets a million letters and requests every season. I am glad that he took the time to ready my letter and sign my card!

First post in a long time

I realized I haven't posted in a while, however, that's because I hadn't gotten anything back! :(
Anyway, I received one this week...Jim Walewander. I wanted Jim's autograph because he played his collegiate ball at Iowa State University. I also sent out autograph requests to the Arizona Fall League this week. I was unsure about sending them, but I had saw on another blog that they did it and got mail back. Let's hope I get some mail back, too!!!

Weekend mail

When I was in Boston for the Cubs/Red Sox series, I bought a pack of cards that were random for $2.00. I have decided to collect as many autographs out of that pack as I could. I have been limited in my success; I have sent out 11, and have only received 2 back. My second player back is Jerry Don Gleaton, former Royal, which I am also collecting.
