I purchased several things from Sportslots last week, and most of them arrived this week, but just waiting on a three more sellers.  I was able to buy small purchases, and take advantage of cheap shipping, while maximizing that cheap shipping cost.  Other than 1 card, I was able to pick up cards for my sets!

Weekend TTMs

A few little white envelopes on this weekend of rain, thunder, tornados, snow and freeze warnings.  I actually sent both of these out opening week, and they were both quick turn arounds.

Ryan Ripken is in the Orioles organization, just like his dad Cal Ripken, Jr., was.  He included a nice personal note in my envelope.

A long awaited trip to the LCS

I decided last week that even though I was still on crutches, I was going to go to the LCS and take a look at some stuff.  I really had nothing else to do, but yet,  I didn't want to buy cards that I didn't need out of boredom.  I did actually have a few "goals" for my trip; 1) 2012 Bowman Chrome inserts, 2) 2017 Topps Inserts, and 3) Anything new for the player collections.

I was pretty successful with the hunt for 2012 Bowman Chrome inserts.  I'm specifically collecting the two insert sets that were specific to the 2012 All Star Game held here in KC.  Here's a sampling of what I got, but, of course, guess who is in the set...Mike Trout.  It'll probably take awhile to get that one.

I also nabbed some 2017 Topps Inserts, but I didn't get as many as I had hoped.  My LCS usually has a ton of Topps Inserts.  Again, just a sample of what I got.

So, this Rizzo...it is very silver.  I placed it next to another Silver Slugger Award card, and it was not as silver as this one.  Is this a special card?  I have another Rizzo Silver Slugger in my PC, and it is also not as silver as this one.  Is there a special silver parallel that I don't know about?

COMC is filling the need right now

I have a good chunk of change in my COMC account from a Christmas present, and I had planned on trying to buy quarterly to get some cool stuff throughout the year.  However, since I am gimpy and cannot trade right now, I have decided not to do quarterly purchases so I can still get some fresh cards while I cannot trade.
