Welcome to my blog!!!

I have collected baseball cards and autographs over the years. I still have boxes full of cards (as well as newer cards) that are just sitting there. So, I have decided to see how many of them I can get autographed. I use through the mail as my preferred route for this adventure. I also have an account on Zistle and The Trading Card Database for trading purposes (stevienicks77).

Another trade with olerud363

Another Zistle trade with my Canadian friend, olerud363.  I hooked him up with some 2014 Topps, and he helped me with my various collections.

Creighton Alumni:

These George Brett Cards are SO cool!  They are from 2003 Topps.  I think it's a great comeback for the "old" Topps Record Breakers!

Gary Carter collection:

Royals collection.  For some reason, I only have 3 Jarrod Dyson cards, and one belong in my 2011 Heritage set, one is here, and I have a 2011 Bowman Gold thick card.

Big trade with hpennington22

Another frequent trade partner, hpennington22, hit me up awhile ago about a big trade.  I was really happy; I got some good stuff for my collection.

Ole Miss Alumni.  Ole Miss is hosting a regional for the College World Series.  I hope to get to go to Omaha to root on Ole Miss.  Hotty Toddy!

Ike Davis.  It seems like since he got traded, I've had a lot of trade offers for his cards.  I'll take 'em.

Player collections.  I really liked the 2013 Topps set, and I especially love the emerald cards!

Old dudes:

Cubbies!

Royals!

Iowa Hawkeye Alumni:

This last bunch is cards I need towards my Cubs and Royals collection. Five more down, many, many more to go.

Small trade/PWE

Found a new trade partner on Zistle.  We just did a small/PWE trade.  dvdgao hooked me up with a few cards for my collection.

A sticker of Starlin's head:

The Trumbo I'm willing to trade again, but the Ike stays in my collection.

Another trade with zac247s

I completed a trade a little while back with multiple time trade partner zac247s from Zistle.  I haven't had time to get it on the blog until now!

Trade with mattingly23

This was a Zistle trade that had been in the works for a while now, but we finally got it done.  Again, school is cutting down tremendously on my trading and sending out TTMs.  I have two weeks off, so I'm trying to get in as many things as I can before it's back to business in June.  I got a few player collection needs, while I traded some of my Don Mattingly cards away.

Trade with lsufanatic

Another Zistle trade, this time with a new trade partner, lsufanatic.  We traded junk wax, my 1990 Donruss for his 1987 Topps.  Here are a few of my goodies:

Cubs and Royals.  These are the players I needed for my Royals and Cubs collections:

Matt Davidson

My first TTM back from the minors this year, and a quick turnaround at that.  Matt Davidson was traded from the Diamondbacks to the White Sox this winter for Addison Reed.  He was the MVP of the All Star Futures Game last year.

Another quick Zistle trade with SDre31

Another quick trade with SDre31 via Zistle.  Got several needs for my Royals and Cubs collection knocked off the list, as well as a few additions to my David Wright player collection.

Creighton Alumni:

David Wright:  I didn't know that Topps had a Allen & Ginter insert before they made it a set.  This card is from the 2007 Topps Walmart.

2014 Bowman

Finally, Walmart had some new cards to buy!  I, again, wasn't excited to buy Bowman this year, but I guess I like it better from a design standpoint than 2014 Topps main.  I bought a blaster box.  The thing that is the most exciting about this years Bowman, Kris Bryant is on the packs!!!

Main set:

Prospects:

Blue Insert:  31/500

HIT!!!!  Interesting signature.

Now for the Chrome part of Bowman.

Refractor: 472/500

I got a regular and Chrome card of this Cubs prospect:

Will I buy more Bowman?  Probably.  Maybe another Blaster.

2014 Opening Day

I finally got my hands on some Opening Day cards.  I bought two packs.  I initially wasn't going to buy any at all because I haven't been fascinated by the 2014 design of Topps.

2014 Gypsy Queen

I have been having a very hard time tracking down the new sets that have come out.  2014 Topps Series 1 and Heritage are all over the place, but I can't find Gypsy Queen or Opening Day anywhere!  I had been scoping out my usual spot for buying cards (Walmart), but they hardly have any cards AT ALL lately!  There has been nothing to buy; good for my wallet, bad for my collection!   I finally had to go to Target last week, and I found both Gypsy Queen and Opening Day.  I will post about GQ today, and Opening Day tomorrow.   I know my posts about new products are way behind everyone else, but I haven't been able to find it until now!

Player collections.  I find it interesting that McGwire is in an Oakland uniform and not a St. Louis one.  I'm glad is Oakland, though; I don't have any of his cards in my collection with him in a Cardinals uni.

Short Prints:

Catcher cards:

Red Mini:  99/99

Minis:  The Cuddyer is a SP.

Inserts:

I like this new set.  I wish it had more cards in it.  I could see 50-60 cards they could potentially produce for this insert set.

Blue Framed:  97/499

I might buy another rack pack or two of GQ, but that will be about it for the year.

Zistle trade with bdlehman18

bdlehman18 contacted me about doing another trade.  I got some pretty cool things in return!

Player collections:

Cubs and Royals collection:

I thought this card was really cool.  I had to read up on the 1997 Flair Showcase set because I had never heard of it before.  From baseballcardpedia:  "1997 Flair Showcase set (produced by Fleer) is a 540-card fractured set released in the summer of '97. One of the more innovative, and confusing, card sets ever produced, the set consists of 180 players on three different, repeating, levels, each with it's own front design: Style (Row 2), Grace (Row 1), and Showcase (Row 0). The Row 2 cards are the easiest to find, while the Row 0s the toughest.  Each "Row" is then sub-divided into three, 60-card, sub-sections, each with it's own reverse icon: Showtime, Showstopper, and Showpiece. Each of the 180 players in the set has one card in each of the three rows, and one card in each of the backs."   This card is Row 1 (Grace), Seat 15 (Showstopper).

Finally, one for my JFK collection:
