Welcome to my blog!!!

I have collected baseball cards and autographs over the years. I still have boxes full of cards (as well as newer cards) that are just sitting there. So, I have decided to see how many of them I can get autographed. I use through the mail as my preferred route for this adventure. I also have an account on Zistle and The Trading Card Database for trading purposes (stevienicks77).

TCDB trade with alanschwarz

A small, yet productive trade for me with alanschwarz.  Of course I still need all those dang inserts from 2017 Topps Main, Update and Chrome.  I knocked these two off the list:

TCDB trade with dsorek

I've been slowly getting back into trading.  I've been able to manage about two trades a week.  This one was another great trade with dsorek.  He pretty much helped me out with all my 2018 Topps needs and then some!

Weekend TTMs

I got a couple of envelopes back throughout the week.  I had hoped since I had been sending out 3 a week since almost the beginning of the season, I would have more little white envelopes coming back.  Anyway, I guess I shouldn't complain this week, 2 back and 3 out.  That makes me think of

Moving on...First back this week was Pat Kelly from the Yankees.  He signed 1 card and returned it, however did not return my second card.  He signed it with a pen.

Next up is Chase Anderson.  He's currently a starting pitcher with the Brewers and with my fantasy team.  He's on the DL this week, so he won't be pitching for team Sponge Babe.

A week's worth of PWE

I have taken on a new TTM strategy for this baseball season.  Instead of waiting to get a bunch back before I sent out more, I have decided that once a week, I'll send out three envelopes...one to a MLB player, one to a MiLB player, and the final one will be to a former player.  My early evaluation of this new strategy has been positive.  It's been nice to see at least one or two PWEs a week.  I may reevaluate soon and maybe send out six instead of three, but we'll see.

Brian Dayett is a former Cub.  I have known he was a pretty good TTM signer, but I have never owned enough of his cards to send a request out until now!

Jack Daugherty is a former MLB baseball player who played with several teams, but was probably known for his time with the Rangers, which he spent the longest time with them.

The last envelope is quite exciting.  I got this back from Nick Kingham, who recently was called up by the Pirates and had an amazing MLB debut.

TCDB trade with pezNpirates

pezNpirates is a new TCDB trading partner.  We were able to hook up to do a trade, and I was able to send him many of my Pirate cards.  I enjoy being able to send team and/or player collection cards to fellow card collectors.

Mid-90's Score cards...I never had access to these cards as a collector back then.

This is an awesome Denny's card.  I have a new appreciation for Denny's hologram cards.  I think they're neat!

TCDB trade with SuddenSam

SuddenSam has been a long time trading partner.  We used to do trades over on Zistle.  He reached out to me and we were able to work out a small trade.  A nice variety for my player collections.

TCDB trade with minibbcards

minibbcards was another trade partner that was kind enough to wait with me until I was back up and moving around again after surgery.  I really have a love/hate relationship with mini cards, so I'm always pretty happy to unload some mini's to someone who enjoys them!

The last two I needed for 2016 Topps Opening Day main set!  Now, on to those darn insert cards!

I decided to put together the backs of these cards to make the picture.  I'm only missing one more for the Trout picture and a couple for the Kris Bryant picture.

Catcher collection card...what a great shot!  Would have been better had he been able to make the play!

This card is awesome!  It's probably my favorite out of everything I got  in the trade.
