I have been getting a couple PWEs back this month.  I'm glad, too, because it gets me excited to send out TTM requests for Spring Training.

Jon Duplantier is currently in Spring Training with the Diamondbacks as a non-roster invitee.  I sent this card to the AFL last fall.

Phil Gosselin

Another spring training TTM...I hope this means I'm on a roll!!  Phil Gosselin signed a minor league contract with the Reds with an invite to spring training.  He's hitting .353 so far this spring.

2016 Spring Training

I have my first Spring Training TTM back!  I really tried to narrow down my mailings this year to players who will definitely sign.  Braden was a 1st round draft pick of the D-backs in 2013.  He's at spring training as a non-roster invite.

Arizona Fall League mail

I sent out my usual 6 envelope to the Arizona Fall League this year.  I usually try to get one guy from every team.  I got two responses back this week!

Daniel Robertson is with the Oakland A's system.  He won AFL player of the week honors last week. He spend the 2014 season with Oakland's minor league team, the Stockton Ports.

John Hicks is with the Mariners organization.  This is a UER on Topps part; I have read on message boards they improperly photo shopped him.  He spend some of last season with Tacoma, the Mariners AAA team.

Matt Davidson

My first TTM back from the minors this year, and a quick turnaround at that.  Matt Davidson was traded from the Diamondbacks to the White Sox this winter for Addison Reed.  He was the MVP of the All Star Futures Game last year.

The other two envelopes were my cards back, but no autograph.  The first one was a return to sender. I sent this to Matt Carson on the day he got called up to the Indians last year.  He's with the Clippers to start out the year this year, but still got the RTS back.

The second PWE was from Detroit.  I got my small envelope back, so I thought it was a TTM.  However, it was just my card, unsigned.  At least they could have put a RTS on it; would've saved me a stamp, like the Clippers did.

Vacation!!!

I finally had a much needed vacation last week.  When I got home, I had several envelopes to open!  I do apologize if I haven't gotten back to you yet if you messaged me via Zistle.  I will get back to you this week!

My first return was from Xavier Nady, who was in camp with the Royals.  I actually got this card before I left, but I just didn't have time to scan it in.  Nady was cut today by the Royals, and now is a free agent.

A few more Spring Training hits

I was becoming worried that the Beltre card was the only reply I'd get from Spring Training this year.  I have always read that Spring Training is an awesome time to get autographs, but the last two years, it had eluded me.  In fact, out of all my TTM percentages, Spring Training is my worst.

Daniel Hudson is someone I've had success with last year, but I love the Topps Archive card of his, so I sent this in.  I always like it when they are personalized.  Mr. Hudson is currently rehabbing from Tommy John surgery.  He went on the DL in June of last year.

Next up, John Danks.  I have always liked the design of the Gypsy Queen sets, so I chose this one to send to him out of all my cards I have of him.  Mr. Danks is currently working his way back to the White Sox after having August arthroscopic surgery.  He is pitching for the White Sox in spring training.

Catching up on TTMs

I know its been a while since my last post, but I spent all last week at all the All Star Game/Week festivities!  I will make a separate post on my experiences!  But, while I was out living it up, I got quite a few TTMs back; players must have been signing over the break.

First up, Chase Headley from the Padres.  He's in the middle of trade talk these days.  I had read he was a great signer, and he didn't disappoint.  I just wish I would of had two cards to send instead of one.

Finally, one return from the Colorado Rockies.  It was my request to Chris Iannetta from last year.  He's currently with the Angels, so needless to say, he's not going to sign my TTM that I sent 14 months ago.

Undefeated season!

My co-ed softball team finished up spring league undefeated, #1 seed in the tournament, and a bye in the first round.  Its super exciting, but also nerve racking because we could have a total let down in the second round...because that's how we roll!!

This weeks TTMs:

First up, Pat Listach.  He's currently the third base coach for the Cubs.  This is the second time I've had success with him via TTM; I also got a response when he was with the Washington Nationals coaching staff.  He was the ROY in 1992.  He takes his mail on the road; the post mark was San Francisco, CA.  The Upper Deck card signature is a little smudged, but that's OK, it still looks cool.

I wanted Mr. Drew's autograph because he's a great guy and he's coming off a big injury, which I can relate to, having my own ankle operated on twice in 2 years! I have lots of respect for players who hurt their ankles!
