Welcome to my blog!!!

I have collected baseball cards and autographs over the years. I still have boxes full of cards (as well as newer cards) that are just sitting there. So, I have decided to see how many of them I can get autographed. I use through the mail as my preferred route for this adventure. I also have an account on Zistle and The Trading Card Database for trading purposes (stevienicks77).

A disappointing Just Commons purchase

Last weekend, I was scouring Zistle to find trade partners for the sets I need to complete.  Several of the sets are pretty tough through Zistle, like 2010 Bowman Draft, any of the Archives, and 2010 Topps Pro Debut.  I looked for cards I needed for the sets, as well as duplicates I need for my personal collection.  When I put my order in, Just Commons send me an email, and could only provide me with 1 copy and not multiples of the cards I requested.  The Billy Butler you see below has surface damage (not picked up by the scanner) and one of the 2010 Bowman Draft cards I received had a bad machine cut on the bottom of it.  Has anyone ever experienced this before from Just Commons?  I have made a couple of orders through there and everything had been very positive (good cards and ability to order multiple of cards) until now.  Anyway, here's what I got (and I have updated my wants page):

2015 Archives (damaged Billy Butler and could not get me 2 JFK's nor Billy)

  1. Should have all the '15 Topps/Update for you other than Bryants and Pederson and a couple of the '10 Bowman Draft. Have tried emailing you in the past multiple times but never got a reply. If interested in trading, email me at ttorcato AT aol DOT com.

  2. Always had good experiences with JustCommons. Couple of times have gotten the wrong card (1 number off, or 1 year off), but they reimbursed me each time.

  3. it happens with them occasionally. if you email them they'll refund you for the cards.

  4. I just kind of count that as part of the deal when buying from them. Some of the cards will be out of stock, some of them will be damaged, but overall it's hard to beat their prices when filling out player collections and sets. It can be frustrating to then go out and chase down whatever is missing/damaged from your order with them after you think you've marked it off on your want list.
